Director of MSHM – April Grudi
Tell us about yourself and what drives you to show up in excellence to lead this program and its students.
I am so passionate about this program and its impact on healthcare. This role allows me to ensure that our future healthcare leaders are mission-driven, patient-focused, and have a healthy work-life balance. All of which are of paramount importance in the industry right now.
How did you come to O’Neill?
The O’Neill School and the Kelley School envisioned a prestigious and rigorous one-year master’s program that was skills-based and created transformational leaders. I was drawn to this mission. I have spent my entire professional career developing transformational leaders. I loved the idea of creating a master’s program that would do just that. What is your favorite part of your job?
I love this program, the MSHM students, our alumni, our preceptors, and our faculty. I KNOW that we are changing the face of healthcare and creating transformational healthcare leaders! What is some advice you would give to MSHM students?“Trust the process and play big.” You will be asked to apply skills that may initially feel foreign and difficult. It can be scary to step out of your comfort zone. The rigor of the program can feel overwhelming. It can be uncomfortable. Do it anyway. Take the risk, step into your power, and find your voice. This program has been intentionally created to push you to excellence, and you were specifically chosen to be a part of your cohort. Know that you can do this; lean into your peers, ask for support, and discover how powerful you are!
