Q: Where were you prior to MSHM?
A: I attended Indiana University Indianapolis, where I earned an Associate’s degree in Radiography and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Imaging Technology with a focus on Computed Tomography. Currently, I work as a Computed Tomography Technologist at Eskenazi Health.
Q: What are you most excited about for this coming year?
A: I’m most excited to continue integrating what I’ve learned in my classes into my practicum experience. It has been incredibly rewarding to apply classroom concepts in real-world settings while simultaneously gaining new insights and skills. This dynamic process of learning and applying knowledge has been a highlight of my journey so far.
Q: What does it mean to you to “Lead for the Greater Good”?
A: To me, leading for the greater good means leveraging leadership skills to create meaningful and lasting impacts that extend beyond individual success! It involves using knowledge, empathy, and collaboration to improve systems, uplift communities, and contribute to broader societal well-being.
Q: What types of roles are looking for post-graduation?
A: I have a strong interest in pursuing a career in an international setting, focusing on global health systems and initiatives. I’m fascinated by the diversity of healthcare systems worldwide and passionate about exploring how our own system can be enhanced through international collaboration. I am particularly interested in roles such as International Program Manager, Health Systems Specialist, or Healthcare Policy Analyst. My goal is to address and improve global health initiatives.
Q: Do you feel supported by program faculty and staff?
A: Absolutely! From orientation to now, I have felt thoroughly supported by the program’s faculty and staff. As an online student, I initially worried about missing the in-person connections, but the program has exceeded my expectations. The faculty and staff consistently ensure we have the necessary resources and are always willing to provide guidance and support.
Q: Do you feel connected to your peers (in your cohort)?
A: Yes! While I initially feared that an online program might hinder peer connections, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how easy it has been to connect with multiple peers in my cohort. The program has created a collaborative environment that fosters meaningful relationships and teamwork.
Q: What is your favorite part of the MSHM program thus far?
A: My favorite aspect of the MSHM program has been the opportunity to directly apply the knowledge and skills I’ve gained in the classroom to my practicum experience. Additionally, I’ve greatly appreciated the unwavering support from the faculty and staff, who have gone above and beyond to ensure that we have the tools and resources necessary to succeed.
