Q: Where were you prior to MSHM?
A: Prior to the MSHM program, I spent all four years of my undergrad at Indiana University-Bloomington studying Public Health, specifically Community Health, through the IU School of Public Health.
Q: What are you most excited about for this coming year?
A: I am most excited for all the career and networking opportunities that are offered through the program. Whether a career fair, practicum experience, or building relationships with the people in the cohort, I am grateful to be able to continue to develop deeper connections with people within the healthcare industry and my cohort.
Q: What does it mean to you to “Lead for the Greater Good”?
A: To me “Leading for the Greater Good” means developing innovative and effective ways to serve others, with empathy and compassion. Anyone who wants to be a good leader needs to be compassionate towards those they are leading and open-minded concerning new ideas that are for the “greater good”.
Q: What types of roles are you looking for post-graduation?
A: Post-graduation, I would like to accept a position within a hospital or consulting organization that serves those in need. I would like to join an organization that aligns with my values and nurtures my strengths.
Q: Do you feel supported by program faculty and staff?
A: The program faculty and staff are very supportive within the program, and are willing to invest time to get to know you better. This is one of the main reasons I applied for the program, knowing that the faculty and staff want me to succeed and are willing to take the time out to guide me to success.
Q: What is your favorite part of the MSHM program thus far?
A: My favorite part of the MSHM program thus far is the people within my cohort. The further I advance through the program the deeper my connections with my colleagues grow, and I am eager to continue building those relationships.
