IU Health Bloomington offers comprehensive care for the South Central Region of Indiana. IU Health offers outpatient, inpatient, surgical, procedural, and specialty care to the region’s communities. IU Health also provides inpatient and outpatient behavioral health care. IU Health’s outpatient and inpatient behavioral health teams provide interdisciplinary, innovative, and comprehensive behavioral health care.
Job/Project Overview
Students work collaboratively with social work students to implement projects, track metrics, and create sustainability plans. Focus on the impact and scalability of interdisciplinary and interdepartmental projects to integrate behavioral health and social work needs for diverse patient populations. Projects include collaborations with care management, chaplaincy, and outpatient care.
Qualifications
• Skills: proficiency with excel and other data analytic platforms; electronic health record navigation skills a plus but not required; ability to be proficient in working virtually and in person
• Personal characteristics: able to work with a diverse team; high emotional intelligence and collaboration skills; energetic and passionate; strategic and forward-thinking
Preceptor
Lindsay Potts, MSW, LCSW- Director of Behavioral Health: Lindsay is an experienced Behavioral Health Services Director, Integrated Health Project Director, Licensed Clinical Social Worker Practitioner, and Educator with a demonstrated history of working in the behavioral healthcare industry for 16 years. Skilled in health systems, nonprofit organizations, project management, and implementation, sustainability in behavioral health, change management, innovative clinical system design, clinical supervision, group and individual therapy, social services, crisis intervention, facilitating university education, and directing outpatient and inpatient behavioral health teams. My educational background includes a BA in Behavioral Neuroscience from Purdue University and an MSW from the Indiana University School of Social Work. Lindsay’s passion for serving and enhancing behavioral health care drives her efforts in fostering industry and community collaborations toward creating health equity for individuals experiencing behavioral health needs.
