Job/Project Overview

Summary: The graduate fellow will help lead and assist clinical and administrative leadership at Ascension St. Vincent in advancing our strategic initiatives across the state of Indiana. In this role, you will help develop new service offerings, improve and enhance processes and gain a unique insight into decision-making at the senior leadership level with multiple opportunities to lead multidisciplinary project teams.

• Lead and assist in projects that develop analytical, leadership, financial management, and operations skills.
• Demonstrate attention to detail, and consistency, and meet deadlines promptly.
• Exhibit an understanding of the business of healthcare, industry trends, and an understanding of Ascension St. Vincent’s organizational structure and mission.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Act as a self-starter and demonstrate a willingness to take on new and challenging projects.

Preceptor 

AJ Kavanaugh serves as the Sr. Director, of Clinical Operations and Strategy at St. Vincent Heart Center and the IN-CVSL. AJ was a 2016 graduate of SPEA’s Healthcare Management and Policy major and has experience in management consulting, digital health, and service line strategy in highly matrixed organizations. His wife is a Pediatric Resident Physician at the University of Louisville. They have a dog named Lola and enjoy cycling, golfing, and traveling.
