Job/Project Overview

American Red Cross Disaster Cycle Services fulfills the disaster cycle of prepare, respond, and recover within the Indiana Region. This project would be specifically focused on Disability Integration programs within the Red Cross to address access to services, preparedness programming for people with disabilities and staff and volunteer training. Components may include exploring partnerships, revising process flows, increasing efficiency, and developing tools to enhance decision making and public health programming for people with disabilities before and during a disaster.

Job Duties 

• Develop and/or coordinate tools to evaluate and track impact of climate change and persons with
disabilities
• Develop training materials for Red Cross staff and volunteers to develop awareness and
understanding of working with people with disabilities
• Evaluate Red Cross training and recruitment materials to better engage people with disabilities
in volunteer and staff positions
• Ensure accountability and execution of the Disability Integration work group projects
• Build capacity through strategic partnerships to increase participants in Preparedness
education programs
• Use project management tools and techniques to achieve benchmarks for DI projects
throughout fiscal year
• Increase DI volunteer capacity and empower volunteer ownership
• Identify and pursue strategic partnerships for skilled volunteer recruitment such as PowerBI,
IT end user support, budgeting and supply chain management
• Work with COO on change management plan around implementing new volunteer engagement plan
