Abigail Mann ’22
Employment post-graduation: Cigna
Q: Where was your practicum site?
A: I was placed at Gennesaret Free Clinic [for practicum] which is a clinic that provides free healthcare to people experiencing homelessness in the Indianapolis area. I focused on outreach and marketing efforts with projects that included a marketing plan and a campaign for the mobile unit launch.
Q: What was your favorite part of the program?
A: My favorite part of the MSHM program was my practicum experience. Working at a nonprofit like Gennesaret Free Clinics, my passion for the health and well-being of others was developed. I am currently at Cigna where I am finishing up training to become a Provider Contract manager. The last 3 months in my new role have been nothing short of amazing and I thank the MSHM program to thank for leading me down this path.
Q: What is your advice to current or prospective MSHM students?
A: Lean into the program. Graduation might seem far away but it will be here before you know it. Lean into your peers, professors, course materials, practicum experience, and networking events because the program is giving you the bones to excel in your professional career.
