The University of Colorado Boulder Libraries invites applications from collaborative and innovative candidates for the position of Scholarly Communication Librarian, a tenure-stream position in the University Libraries’ Department of Open and Digital Scholarship Services. The Scholarly Communication Librarian provides leadership in advancing scholarly communication programs that align with library and university priorities and the campus-wide Open Access (OA) policy. This position provides strategic direction for and promotion of CU Scholar, the University’s institutional repository (IR), and actively collaborates with library and campus colleagues on efforts to increase and enhance open content. The Scholarly Communication Librarian conducts outreach efforts and liaises with subject librarians, working groups, and campus partners in order to increase the accessibility and visibility of campus scholarship and to promote an institutional culture that values and rewards openness. Grant Supports Four Faculty in Preserving Church’s 180-Year Heritage
Indiana University School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI faculty members Andrea Copeland, Albert William, Zebulun Wood, and Ayoung Yoon received a New Frontiers of Creativity and Scholarship Award in the amount of $57,043 from the IU Office of the President for their unique collaboration in archival preservation and 3-D virtual environments. Their project, “Virtual Bethel: Underrepresented History and Primary Source Education through Virtual Reality,” is “a wonderful demonstration of the interplay between informatics and digital archiving,” said Executive Associate Dean Mathew J. Palakal, School of Informatics and Computing at IUPUI .

The University of Vermont Bailey/Howe Library seeks innovative, collaborative, user-focused applicants for the position of Science and Data Librarian. This position will serve as the liaison to the science disciplines in the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and will support research, teaching and learning in these areas by providing library instruction, research consultations, outreach and other services. This position will also take the lead in designing and developing the Libraries’ services for supporting data management and develop training and support for data literacy within and outside of the Libraries.
