We posted this Quick Tip back in August, but it’s particularly relevant now that absences are likely to increase due to the omicron variant.
Would you like to provide students access to your recorded classes so that they can review course content or catch up if they had to miss your class? You can use the Kaltura Lecture Capture system, and share the recordings with students via Canvas.
To schedule a Kaltura Lecture Capture recording of a class you teach, fill out and submit the Kaltura Request Form. You can even request that your class be recorded automatically for the whole semester. To create an ad-hoc recording of a class you teach, you can use Kaltura Lecture Capture software with the webcam on your computer or use Kaltura Personal Capture. Please note that you cannot use the classroom camera and microphones for Zoom and Kaltura simultaneously. If you have students who are attending class online along with your in-person students, then you can record the session in Zoom. If you only have students attending in-person, then recording in Kaltura will provide the best quality video for students to watch on any of their devices.
