Description/Responsibilities: We are seeking an enthusiastic, creative person for a unique professional opportunity! The media specialist/teen librarian is a full-time, benefits eligible position, with hours shared between two facilities: Paul Hadley Middle School (Mooresville Consolidated School Corporation) and Mooresville Public Library. This position will offer the unique opportunity to work with teens in a school library and in a public library, creating a strong partnership between both environments and facilitating quality library services to students.

The position is Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM. No evenings or weekends. During the school calendar year, the librarian will spend several hours each day at each building; during school breaks, the librarian will serve full-time at the public library.

The candidate must possess excellent communication, organizational, and programming skills and be a team player. A job description and MPL application are available and posted at mooresvillelib.org. Mooresville Public Library, an award-winning library, is located 14 miles southwest of Indianapolis or approximately 30 miles north of Bloomington, Indiana. Paul Hadley Middle School is located less than one mile from Mooresville Public Library.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in education with School Media Specialist license required. ALA-approved Master of Library Science degree from an accredited program preferred.

Salary: $26,000 annually: 40 hours a week. Medical, dental, vision benefits available.

The Indiana State Library is seeking a Public Library and Federal Projects Consultant to work within the Library Development Office at our downtown Indianapolis location. This position is a great opportunity to assist (and learn from!) Indiana library directors, staff, and trustees while indirectly helping to improve statewide library services through consultations and grants.

Primary responsibilities are administrative and would include managing the Indiana State Library’s federal projects (including the LSTA grant program, the Public Library Survey, and the E-Rate program). In addition to these projects, the consultant also regularly provides consultations and trainings, publications, and workshops for library staff, including assisting with the coordination of the New Directors Workshop held annually at the Indiana State Library.
