The Sullivan County Public Library Board of Trustees is searching for a visionary individual to be the next Director. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual who can build upon a strategic plan and continue to develop this county-wide library system, as well as work with a passionate and enthusiastic staff to administer the day-to-day functions of a collaborative public library. SCPL is a multi-faceted library system – with one main library, five branches, and one history museum – that serves a county of nearly 21,000 residents. With a $1.9 million annual budget, a Friends of the Library group, and a host of community partners, SCPL is primed to continue making a lasting impact on its residents and stakeholders.
This is a full-time, 35 hour/week exempt position with a substantial benefits package. The Board is excited to be looking for a new leader who can provide excellent community relations, develop staff connections, and cultivate a professional work ethic in a library setting. Qualifications and Specifications:
- LC 2
- Experience in fiscal oversight of an annual budget, and the ability to advocate for public library support
- Experience collaborating and partnering with the Board, community partners, local businesses, and other key stakeholders
- Experience leading change and organizational growth
- Experience implementing policies and upholding library principles to ensure free, equitable, and confidential access to information for every member of the community
Pay Range: $20-$35 per hour
