Butler University Libraries has a full-time staff opening in a recently redefined position; Collections & User Services Associate. Reporting to the Collections Strategy Librarian, this Associate has a foot in both back-end support as well as public services. The position oversees the management of Butler Libraries’ physical collections, including monograph and journal stacks maintenance, physical processing of incoming materials, the retrieval and mailing of Interlibrary Loan and PALshare items, management of the circulating technology inventory, and oversight of any large scale projects related to the physical collections of Irwin and two branch libraries. The position helps guide the work of 3-5 student employees (but is not their direct supervisor), and assists the Public Services side of Butler Libraries by sharing the responsibility of opening Irwin Library Monday through Friday, thereby being a resource and backup to student employees at our Information Commons Desk.
