An unpaid intern studying library and information science, or forensic science is requested to work 8–10 hours per week between 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. for approximately 16 weeks, beginning in January 2023 through May 2023, at the ISPL FDU. The Laboratory is located at 550 West 16th Street, Suite C, Indianapolis, IN. The applicant must seek college credit for this opportunity. The applicant must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test. The cost of the drug test will be assumed by the ASQDE.

Position Opportunity: Part-Time Public Services Librarian, Anderson University (IN)

Looking for Part Time Librarian support in Circulation, Reserves, Interlibrary Loan, Reference across disciplines, and Student worker coordination.
The successful candidate will be able to establish rapport and work collaboratively with library colleagues, with emphasis on good communication and flexibility. Some Evening or weekend in-library work may be requested, some remote work may be possible.
Possible Responsibilities Include:
Participates in reference/information services including weekday evening and Sunday shifts in rotation with other AU librarians
Oversee the work of Interlibrary Loan including formulations and interpretation of copyright policies
Oversee the work of Circulation including stacks maintenance and inventory
Oversee the work of print and electronic reserves including formulations and interpretation of copyright policies
Compiles statistics, analyzes data, and prepares access reports related to areas of responsibility in support of departmental and library goals
Coaching/mentoring/supervising student workers; partners with other staff to develop a comprehensive training program that produces responsible, knowledgeable, and helpful student employees
Continually seeks new ways to extend hospitality and improve customer services
Participates in library instruction and the promotion of information fluency, including creation of online resources and guides
Shares in library planning, management, and innovation through collaborative task-specific groups and special projects
A Master’s degree in library science from an ALA-accredited program; Current graduate students in MLS/MLIS programs will be considered. 1-2 years of experience in public services preferred. Familiarity with OCLC’s WMS and ILLiad, or other ILS and ILL systems preferred.
Excellent people skills, including – the ability to work effectively with an ethnically diverse group of University faculty, staff and students; a willingness to listen; an inclination to seek consensus; and the ability to inspire.
This is a part-time temporary position, not eligible for university benefits.
