I headed to Crawford County Community Schools to work with 6 elementary teachers (2 from each school) and 1 administrator. They just got some Bambu A1’s and wanted to learn about using them.
When I got there, they were already assembling their printers (1st snow made travel slooooww)
After getting the printers to do their calibration, we worked on getting an svg & printing it, like for an ornament or jewelry or cookie cutter. The next project was a nametag, then a board game piece.
I have slideshows that can walk you through these…
SVG name tag board game
They were great learners, trying things, failing, fixing….and we all had fun.
Now the hard part for them is implementing this in their classrooms.
They have 3 printers per school, which is much better than only one.
I talked about having it in the classroom and just printing some simple things to get kids interested. Then let kids design something to get printed (but start small). Also kids could work on designing something to solve a problem around the building. Finally, utilizing it as part of a learning project.
