- “The four Common Core areas Literary and Intellectual Traditions, the Natural World, Human Behavior and Social Institutions, and Art, Aesthetics, and Creativity, shall be retained in our General Education program, and be regarded as fixed according to their current definitions, as approved originally by the Academic Senate in 2003.”*
- *This motion shall not be understood to preclude changes in implementation, such as adopting specific SLOs and assessment procedures (so long as these are consistent with the current definitions), or changing the names of these requirements; nor should they be understood to imply these are the only requirements our Gen Ed curriculum will have, or that other current requirements will not also be retained in a future vote; nor should it be understood to imply that any course that now meets these requirements shall continue to do so, e.g., if that course is found no longer to meet the agreed-upon SLOs for the requirement it purports to meet.
