In addition to the strength of our faculty, our students are also active teachers and researchers. Their contributions to the field of music theory through publications, conference presentations, performances, and other accomplishments is admirable.
Student activities in the department include the Music Theory Colloquium Series, at which students, faculty, and guests regularly present their research; the Robert Samels Visiting Scholar Program, featuring residencies by several distinguished visitors each year; membership in the Graduate Theory Association, a small scholarly society, professional-development group, and social organization; and an invitation to participate in the Indiana Theory Review, a peer-reviewed scholarly journal produced entirely by students.
