$500 for a work that is either solely electroacoustic or that uses electronics as a significant part of its instrumentation. A list of previous winners can be found here.
GENERAL GUIDELINES & ELIGIBILITY
- Submissions must have been composed during the student’s tenure in the Indiana University School of Music.
- Eligibility: enrollment in composition or electronic music. [Fall enrollment provides eligibility for the following spring.]
- If the judges feel that no entry is worthy of the award, none will be made. Decisions will be announced as soon as feasible after the deadline.
- Winners from previous years are ineligible.
DEADLINE: 12:00 noon on the Monday following Spring Break.
SUBMISSIONS:
Audio or video file is required. If a score exists for the work, submit it as well.
If you have a video, please create an H.264-encoded .mp4 file, and adjust the data rate so that your file is no more than about 300 MB. If you are unable to compress it that much, upload your video to any cloud service that allows a visitor to play (preview) the file without downloading it. Submit a text, Word, or PDF file that includes a link to the video. Please take whatever steps are necessary to share the video without requiring a password or a login to the site.
All materials must be uploaded to the SUBMISSIONS FOLDER.
Use this format for filenames:
CECM_<lastname>_<title>.mp3
