Ammo Run – This is an action scene from the film, The Outpost. It’s a mad dash in the middle of a fire fight.
Not on my Watch – A dramatic action sequence, from the film, Straw Dogs. Here you can watch scene and score together. Also shows the use of streamers and punch points for live synchronization.
Carter Debrief – An emotional debriefing with a soldier after a tremendous battle (true story), from the film, The Outpost.
I Woke up Early the Day I Died – Ed Wood’s last script, a comedy cult classic silent film. This main title illustrates the wacky use of musical styles from many genres.
Anatomy of a Scene – An in-depth look at the theme and instrumentation of a complex montage, from the film, Nothing but the Truth.
Red Shift – This is an excerpt from Prometheus Unwound, a string quartet with narrator. CalTech commissioned me to write this piece as a celebration of the last 60 years of the Palomar observatory. The movements were titled after various discoveries made at the observatory. The narrator is astrophysicist Dr. Evan Kirby. Performed live on the vast floor of the Palomar Observatory, which has a natural 14 second reverb!
