All three finalists of the 2014-15 C4 Commissioning Competition are IU composers: Gordon Williamson (recent D.M. student), Carlo Frizzo (current D.M. student), and Texu Kim (current D.M. student). Their pieces will be premiered in March 2015. They were chosen from over 300 composers submitting works. Congratulations to all!

Curtis Smith’s “Echoes” Premiered at 2014 NASA Convention
The second quartet collaboration between composer Curtis Smith and saxophonist Casey Grev (see photo) was premiered March 22nd, by Grev’s Echo Quartet, at the University of Illinois as part of the North American Saxophone Alliance convention.
