Ryan Diefenderfer wins Eastern Trombone Workshop National Composition Competition

Alumnus Brian Ciach receives major Subito Composer Fellowship
In a new partnership with the Minnesota Orchestra Composer Institute, Subito Music Corporation has announced that Jacobs School of Music alumnus Brian Ciach has been named their inaugural Subito Composer Fellow. Ciach had his IU dissertation, Collective Uncommon: Seven Orchestral Studies on Medical Oddities (2011), performed by the Minnesota Orchestra as part of the Minnesota Orchestra Composers Institute. Sang Mi Ahn compositions presented at Biennial Conference
Sang Mi Ahn’s two compositions “Convergence for Alto Saxophone and Electronics” and “Monologue for Tenor Saxophone” are going to be presented by saxophonist Heidi Radtke Siberz (doctoral student in saxophone) at the 2012 North American Saxophone Alliance Biennial Conference.
