Benjamin D. Taylor’s newest commissioned band work, Trailing Clouds of Glory has met with tremendous success, already garnering 12 performances in 7 states with many more performances planned for the Fall 2013 semester. On October 29, 2013 he will attend a performance by Brigham Young University Symphonic Band in Provo, Utah during which time he will be a Guest Composer on BYU campus working with the composition students in lessons and masterclass settings. Another recent work commissioned by IU colleague Samuel Wells, titled Stop.Rewind.Play for trumpet and video, has been accepted for performance at several upcoming electronic music festivals including Electronic Music Midwest and The Electroacoustic Barn Dance.
Ben Taylor was also awarded a Barlow Endowment Commission to write a new work for Keith Kirchoff (piano and live electronics) that he will take on tour in late 2014. Read more about the press release.
