POSITION: Adult Services Team Leader
LOCATION: Harris Branch (location is subject to change)
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
CERTIFICATION: Indiana LC 3 (Professional Assistant)
HOURS OF WORK: Full Time/40 hours per week with at least one evening per week and weekend rotation (hours subject to change)
WAGE: $25.00 per hour (minimum starting pay)
BENEFITS: As specified in the latest edition of the staff handbook or as amended by the Board of Trustees.
DIRECT SUPERVISOR: Adult Services Coordinator
SUMMARY: The Adult Services Team Leader is responsible for the management, scheduling and operation of the branch-based Adult Services department.

The purpose of this position is to oversee daily activities and staff of the Adult Services department at the assigned location, provide outstanding patron user experiences and communicate patron and staff needs to the Adult Services Coordinator.

2. At least two years of library supervisory experience
3. Extensive knowledge of children’s and young-adult literature
4. Experience in planning and conducting youth programming
5. Ability to work well with patrons and staff
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills
7. Ability to instruct patrons and staff in technology and materials
8. Strong commitment to excellent customer service
9. Proficient in the use of computers and library technology; ability to learn new
technology quickly
10. Ability to multitask

This year’s theme is the Transformation of Librarianship. The virtual symposium will feature opening keynote remarks by SLA president Catherine Lavallée-Welch and a closing keynote by librarian, writer, and consultant, Gary Price. Colleagues from the Midwest will share their experience and expertise on topics related to special librarianship and specialized libraries, services, and collections. There will be time for networking as well.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Addresses the major issues and challenges facing the archival/records management professions in their quest to manage electronic records. Students will study and evaluate the impact automation has had on archival theory and practice, analyzing various models and strategies archivists have developed to manage electronic records.
EXTENDED COURSE DESCRIPTION
General examination of the document life-cycle of organizational records: generation and control; information storage, and retrieval systems using various technologies; protection and disposition; retention regulations and practices. Discussion of how records management concepts and contexts differ from archives and library organization and retrieval systems. Application of general records management theory to all media.

Steve Dalina is employed as the Director for Rutgers University Business. He oversees the Records Management program for the University. He also serves as Co-adjunct Professor in the School of Informatics and Computing. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rider University and has a Master of Library and Information Science Degree from Rutgers University.
