Two Student Positions Available for Virtual Bethel Project

Two student positions are available for Virtual Bethel Project (this can be a one position for an ideal candidate who is knowledgeable and has experience in both aspects) at the Department of Library Science, IUPUI.

Virtual Bethel Project

Funded by Indiana University’s New Frontiers in the Arts & Humanities Program, the Virtual Bethel project aims to build a 3D virtual space of the physical church building to preserve the cultural heritage, and create it as an interactive learning space for un-represented history and primary source education. Annette Lamb, a Senior Lecturer in LIS Published Two Articles

Annette Lamb, a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Library and Information Science published two articles in the February 2017 issue of Teacher Librarian: The Journal for School Library Professionals.

The first article titled “A Collection of Digital Collections and More” describes a variety of digital collections across content areas of interest to K-12 students and teachers. (more…)

Indiana State Archives Funding

Indiana is at the crossroads to your genealogy past.

Earlier this month, we told you that the funding for building a new Indiana State Archives was in jeopardy and that conditions at the current warehouse site were rapidly deteriorating, with several leaks just in the last month.

Now Representative Matt Pierce of Bloomington has introduced an amendment to this year’s state budget proposal (House Bill 1001), which would include $27.5 million for building a new Indiana State Archives. The money would come from the state’s general fund. (more…)

Summer Internships at the Indianapolis Museum of Art

The IMA is currently accepting applications for Summer, 2017. Applications are due by March 10^th.

The IMA Intern Program is open to juniors, seniors, recent graduates, or graduate students. Interns are assigned to the museum departments that best suit their educational backgrounds, experience, and interests. Summer interns participate in regularly scheduled programming designed to provide a broader understanding of museum operations and practices. (more…)
