Dr. Angela P. Murillo, Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Library and Information Science presented a keynote address titled “What matters, what helps? Ideas, realizations and motivations to keep pushing” at the Latinos Unidos Scholarship Award Ceremony on September 9th.
Dr. Murillo was invited to present a motivational keynote at the award ceremony focusing on the tips and tricks for success in education. Latinos Unidos is a “non-profit organization with the goal of generating leadership and unity among latinos…with the focus on promoting educational opportunities for students so that they can obtain the knowledge needed to succeed” (http://latinosunidosofiowa.org/).
The Scholarship Award Ceremony presented 15 undergraduate students with scholarships and the ceremony was attended by friends, family, and sponsors of the Latinos Unidos organization.
