If you’re interested in working in an academic, public, or corporate library, it’s highly likely that you’ll require subject expertise. That’s where our four courses come in – they’re designed to provide you with the essential foundations to help you hit the ground running. We’ve created short introductory videos for each course (and ourselves), so take a look to find out more! These courses are specifically geared towards individuals new to these areas, and acquiring specialized information skills can help distinguish you in the job search process.
While Paul is the primary instructor for S 521 and S 522 and Heather is the primary instructor for S 523 and S 526, we take a team-teaching approach to these courses and you will interact with both of us throughout the semester. These courses are designed to be complimentary to one another and you are welcome to enroll in multiple courses at once.
S 522 Social Science Information
S 523 Science and Technology Information
In each course, we will build a portfolio quality project you can use to demonstrate your mastery of the subject area.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions about the courses. We hope to see you online this summer!
