2022 FISA Summer Internship Application
“Friends of the State Archives” Summer Internship
The State Archives is the largest archives in the state, with over 100,000 cubic feet of materials. The FISA intern will work in the processing department and will work closely with IARA archivists to learn how to arrange and describe a range of archival materials and how to write scope and content notes that will be included in the Archives’ catalog. Given the extensive operations of the State Archives, there is plenty of room to create opportunities based on the intern’s interests. Possible opportunities may include working in the conservation lab or creating a digital exhibit. The State Archives is currently preparing to move to a new building, and the intern may also assist with various tasks related to preparing the collection for the move.
The FISA internship is for a graduate student and pays $16/hour. Exact hours are flexible for approximately 15 hours a week for 12 weeks. Work will take place onsite at the Indiana State Archives at 6440 East 30th St. Indianapolis, IN.
To apply, students should send a completed application, along with a resume, to Claire Horton (chorton@iara.in.gov) by April 1st.
