Position Summary
The Digital Projects Internship at the Indianapolis Public Library provides the opportunity to gain experience in the development and implementation of digital collections by going through the process of turning the Branches Magazine files into a digital collection on ContentDM. Work will include file processing, metadata creation, ContentDM, and donor collaboration. This is a temporary position.
Essential Functions
Internship duties and responsibilities will include the following:
● Process the Branches Magazine digital files by file conversion and renaming.
● Create and enhance metadata, including team collaboration to develop of controlled vocabularies.
● Create and prepare digital collection locally and upload content to ContentDM.
● Collaborate with donor on collection review and approval.

Qualifications:
● Current MLS/MLIS student with 3+ Metadata credits, OR at least 6 months practical
Metadata experience, preferably Dublin Core.
● Strong computer skills, especially Excel.
● Attention to detail and self-motivated.
● Independent, reliable, collaborative worker, comfortable working alone or in a group.
Environment and Overall Physical Demands:
● This position requires long periods sitting a computer.
● Digital Projects is located at the Library Services Center (LSC). While most work can be done remotely, regular communication and visits to LSC will be required.
