Assistantship for Deledalle Collection: Catalogue Database Developer

A paid position is available for an LIS student with some MLS coursework completed, to provide cataloging and archival services for a donated collection:
“a large collection consisting of the papers of French historian of philosophy Gérard Deledalle (1921-2003). Deledalle was the first European philosopher to have studied systematically and thoroughly the history of American philosophy, to have realized its extraordinary significance and potential for influence, and to have introduced it, and especially the two major figures of John Dewey and Charles Peirce, to France, continental Europe, and northern Africa.”
Stipend: $12-15/hour, 20 hours of work per week.
MLS students should inquire whether they can enroll for 3 or 6 credit hours of LIS-S 606 Project in Library and Information Science and count this work towards their degree.
The Assistantship will be granted to a student enrolled in the Library Science graduate program at IUPUI, who demonstrates academic excellence. The graduate student will be required to work under the supervision of both the director of the Peirce Edition Project and a Library Science faculty mentor, in researching, assessing, cataloguing, or doing any work related to the archiving of the papers of Gérard Deledalle (including preservation and access). The term of the Assistantship shall be one year. Progress reports will be due on December 15, 2019 and April 15, 2020. The director of the Peirce Edition Project, in cooperation with the chair of the Library and Information Science Department in the School of Informatics and Computing, will determine the recipient of the Assistantship.
REQUIRED: Technical ability to continue developing a catalogue database based on an ArchiveSpace implementation (https://archivesspace.org/) and to install it on the webserver; ability to customize its front-end interfaces with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. There are two interfaces to implement: one for the catalogers, one for the catalog users.
Once the cataloger’s interface is ready, the position-holder will be entering data pertaining to the hundreds of files and documents that constitute the Deledalle Papers collection.
The candidate must have an active interest in digital humanities and experience with online library projects.
