Anderson Public Library is looking for an Assistant Director/Collection Services Manger to serve as second-in-command of the library system; assumes in-charge duties in absence of Library Director. Responsible for managing all staff and operations that involve acquisition, cataloging, and physical processing of library books and materials for system-wide distribution, while monitoring budget expenditures for materials. Is also responsible for administration and functioning of library’s integrated library system (ILS).
Job Education and Experience:
1. Masters of Library Science degree from ALA-accredited school, with current Indiana certification
2. Significant library work experience in on-line cataloging, record creation and entry that includes MARC formats, Library of Congress headings, Dewey Decimal classification, and OCLC
3. Significant use of and familiarity with integrated library systems
4. At least five years’ work experience in public library management and supervision
