Schedule: Flexible; must be within the hours Special Collections is open, 9:00-4:30 M-F

Internship Summary: This internship is designed for students enrolled in the S605,180-hour (3 credit)internship. We are seeking an enthusiastic Archival Intern who may or may not have previous archival or museum experience, but who is very interested in learning more about the field. He/she should have excellent research, writing, and computer skills, and a broad interest in primary source materials, including actual and digital materials. This internship will provide the prospective candidate with the opportunity to gain hands-on, practical experience in almost every area of archiving in a mixed-format academic archives; candidates may also gain exposure to library liaison work and information literacy instruction. Applicants should send a letter of application, including areas of archival interest, and an academic writing sample; submission by email is acceptable. (Note: Students applying should have completed 18 hours of coursework prior to the start of the internship.)
