Hamilton East Public Library (Noblesville/Fishers) is currently accepting applications internally and externally for a full-time (40 hrs. per week) Youth Services Librarian. This position will provide customer service assistance to children and families and support the library experience with the use of library materials, resources and equipment. Must be available to work a combination of days, evenings and weekends. Starting salary for this position is $35,500-$40,000 per year.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Welcome visitors and provide HEPL hospitality.
- Provide guidance and assistance with basic and complex customer requests regarding the use of library services, resources, facilities, and equipment in accordance with HEPL hospitality guidelines.
- Search standard reference materials, including online sources and the Internet, to answer patrons’ reference questions, and provide readers advisory services.
- Analyze customer requests to determine needed information, and furnish or locate that information.
- Organize and promote the collection through displays and attractive presentations. Coordinate displays with the help of Youth Services Library Assistants.
- Assist customers in account registration and maintenance.
- Assist in maintenance of designated collections as assigned.
- Under the direction of the Engagement team, develop and deliver customer-centered programs, community events and outreach services.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.
- ALA accredited Master of Library Science degree and an Indiana Library Certificate 3 or higher are required.
- Minimum of one year of library experience is preferred.
