Mikayla Knight Kinley (MLIS 2025) began a new role as a public services librarian, Central Library of the Indianapolis Public Library.
It’s been a busy couple of months for me! I completed my coursework this summer with my internship course, working as an archives processing assistant at IU Indianapolis University Library Ruth Lilly Special Collections & Archives. Shortly after graduating in August, I applied for, interviewed for, and accepted a position as a librarian (adult-focus public services librarian) at Central Library of the Indianapolis Public Library. While I consider this step a pivot away from the archives/archivist path I was hoping to pursue, I also consider it a step in the right direction, and I can always pivot back to archives when an opportunity arises down the road.
