We’re passing this along for Christina Jones that teaches in the Bloomington program for those that are interested. Note that online is still an option, but it’s synchronous (or you can attend in person in the Education Library on the Bloomington campus). In order to take a course at IU Bloomington, you will have to submit a Continuing Graduate degree application and must have approval from the IUB instructor to take the course as well (which is the students responsibility to obtain): https://graduate.indiana.edu/admissions/non-degree.html You are encouraged to start this process as early as possible. The application site has further information.
Course Description:
Storytelling is one of our oldest art forms and a powerful mechanism with which to connect users with our collections. Students will have several opportunities to apply their skills in class to stories from the oral tradition for a variety of ages and contexts. Former students have used this course to help prepare for interviews and job talks. We will be online, but students may join me in person at the Education Library. I invite you to enroll in this course designed to cultivate speaking and storytelling skills in a warm, supportive, and creative environment.
