The Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at IU Indianapolis (IUI) is excited to announce a new Ph.D. program in Information Science (IS) within the Department of Library and Information Science (LIS), with the campus transitions to an R1 research institution. The LIS Department offers an undergraduate data science program, collaborates on graduate data science initiatives, and delivers an ALA-accredited Master of Library and Information Science degree program fully online.
The fully funded Ph.D. in IS at Luddy Indianapolis, which includes year-round funding (including summer), emphasizes community-engaged scholarship. Our faculty research spans a range of topics, including community informatics, archival science, inclusive library practices, ethics and policy, informal learning and youth studies, open science, data curation and cyberinfrastructure.
