Please join us virtually for our September speaker. Students, alumni, and the broader LIS community are welcome to attend all speaker series events.
Rooney, Library Director of Samuels Public Library, is a long-time library employee who gained experience in all areas of library service prior to moving to management. She has a history of successful programs and community-driven projects offered at Samuels, including a Memory Lab, which she initially created on a budget, where library patrons can digitize their personal analog audio-visual media. Under Rooney’s leadership Samuel Library was recently awarded a $500,000 Mellon Foundation grant to expand their Memory Lab, Makerspace, sound booth, and upgrade a computer lab.
