Monday, October 23 • 4:30 – 5:15 p.m. A Tale of “Two Media”: The Black Freedom Struggle Encoded Across Platforms Join Lisa Lenoir as she presents how to analyze and understand patterns of discourse to engage in conversations about social movements, (mis)representation, and consumer culture.

Wednesday, October 25 • 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Media Representation Join us for a thought-provoking panel discussion into the application of critical perspectives on various aspects of media and representation including tv/film, virtual reality, environmental justice, and woke culture.

Thursday, October 26 • 1 – 2 p.m. From Code to Canvas: The Generative AI Media Revolution Join Shubhi Sinha, Amangul Hydyrova, and Avrie Allen for Media Literacy Week to discuss how Generative AI technologies are shaping the way we perceive, consume, and interact with media. Our panelists will share their insights on the long-term potential and ethical considerations of an AI-driven media landscape.

Thursday, October 26 • 1:30 – 2:45 p.m. Social Media Misinformation: Health, Wellness, and Questioning Your Sources Panelists Dr. Carol Kennedy-Armbruster and Dr. Rachel Ryder will join Margaret Lion to tackle media misinformation related to health and wellness. The panelists will focus on fitness and movement while debunking media myths and misinformation on how we can stay active in the digital age!
