Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library program (DPIL) was a part of Governor Eric J. Holcomb?s Next Level Agenda. During the 2023 legislative agenda, DPIL was fully funded in the governor?s budget. The goal is to rapidly expand DPIL across all 92 counties. The Indiana State Library will be the State Program Sponsor in partnership with The Dollywood Foundation, and together we will work to expand DPIL to children ages birth to five in Indiana. Candidates are being sought for two new positions, State Director, and Community Engagement Coordinator, to help grow the program in Indiana. Job Profile: State Director for Imagination Library of Indiana
Reports to: The Dollywood Foundation Executive Director and the Indiana State Librarian
The State Director is a key component of the success of the statewide Imagination Library. The State Director manages all aspects of staffing, budget management, and programs for the purpose of implementing and maintaining the statewide Imagination Library program and ancillary efforts that encourage Indiana children to read.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
* Develops short and long-term strategies for sustaining and promoting statewide Imagination Library efforts. Primary Focus on
* Creating Statewide Awareness
* Developing DPIL county programs
* Community Level Coordination
* Cultivating Statewide Partners
* Foundation and Dolly Parton Brand Ambassador
* Administration of funding for the Statewide program, including statistical reporting; manages statewide participation in statewide charitable giving campaigns.
* Work closely with Foundation Accounting to ensure successful preparation of annual audit and tax filings.
* Speaks to groups to generate funding and organizational support for countywide Imagination Libraries across Indiana .
* Develops fundraising strategies that maximize statewide and local donations.
* Develops and maintains relationships with partner organizations in Indiana , maximizing existing resources to increase enrollment and fundraising.
* Analyzes and reports regularly on statewide enrollment, program costs (including budget to actual), enrollment trends, and funding of counties on distressed affiliate assistance.
* Oversees the county assistance grant funding process, coordinating with the Community Engagement Coordinator to track county program issues and progress.
* Files timely reports with State reporting agencies and maintains records for the Foundation accordingly.
* Prepares and presents an annual Legislative report.
* Oversees the development and production of countywide IL and statewide marketing materials in coordination with Foundation Marketing Director.
* Field all media inquiries, coordinate with Foundation Marketing Director.
* Develops State Level Advisory Board; facilitate meetings; prepares and distributes minutes.
* Develops leads and makes presentations to prospective donors and partners.
* Maintains excellent relations with the public.
* Advises/assists other state entities on the statewide implementation of the Imagination Library.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree required. Eight to ten years of senior level experience preferred, including developing and managing staff, budgets and programs and developing new and innovative strategies for achieving organizational goals. Must be able to travel extensively in the state.

Pay Status – This position is Exempt. Salary Range: $80,000 – 100,000
