In INFO-B 644, Consumer Health Informatics, you will learn to examine patient information from different points of view, such as health literacy, consumer knowledge, and education. In this class, students will learn about how information and technologies are used to provide better healthcare to patients and the public. For example, students will learn to use technologies to deliver point-of-need, consumer-focused health resources and healthcare. B644 gives students hands-on experience building patient-focused (or patient-facing) tools and mobile apps. Students will develop a mobile app mock-up that provides a value-added service or resource. Sample mobile apps include managing consumer health information, health literacy, and consumer education.
