The Mary and John Gray Library at Lamar University seeks an innovative and creative individual to join our team as STEM Librarian. Reporting to the Head, Research, Engagement, & Learning Department, the STEM Librarian will provide research services in person and and virtually at various events and locations across campus. The librarian is responsible for developing library guides, providing research services, information literacy instruction, research assistance, creating library guides and exhibits, and other duties as assigned. In addition, the librarian will collaborate with colleagues on library-wide committees and projects to advocate for the research needs of Lamar University/Lamar Institute Technology constituents. This is a 12 month, tenure-track faculty position. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Education/Experience:
* ALA-accredited Master’s degree in library or information studies or equivalent.
* Applicable experience (three years) in an academic setting in research and instruction departments.
* Experience using Springshare products such as LibGuides, LibChat, and LibAnswers.
* Undergraduate or graduate degree in a STEM discipline and experience in using STEM resources (including databases, journals, and preprints) and instruction.
* Have a record of scholarship, research, and professional service appropriate for appointment as a tenure track library faculty member.
