Location: Remote
Position: Part-time, hourly.
Salary: $13.00 x 500 hours for one year (approximately 10h/week)
Description:
The Department of Library and Information Science seeks to hire a graduate student (or recent graduate) to work part-time (hourly) as a Research Assistant starting January 2022 (may have an orientation meeting late Dec 2021).
Ideal candidate will assist various research activities, including IMLS funded project Building Public Libraries’ Capacity for Open Data Services: Models and Implementation, but not limited to. The details about the project can be found at: https://www.imls.gov/grants/awarded/lg-250098-ols-21. Other activities will include research support in the area of public libraries, digital curation, and open data.
Major responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Assisting project activities like creating a meeting minutes, organizing meetings.
- Communication with project partners and email solicitation.
- Literature search.
- Creating annotated bibliography.
- Initial data analysis.
Candidate will report to Dr. Ayoung Yoon. Applications will be reviewed until the position is filled.
Minimum qualification
- Interests in research.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to work independently.
Preferred qualification
- Previous experiences in research or equivalent project experiences.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks.
