UW-Stout seeks an Assistant Archivist, which is a full-time, 12-month academic staff position at the University of Wisconsin-Stout Library Archives and Area Research Center.
The Assistant Archivist works with the University Archivist to manage the daily operations and staff activities within the unit. The Assistant Archivist will serve as the Public Records Officer for the university and implement Wisconsin and UW-System policies regarding the retention and disposal of physical and electronic records created by the institution. The Assistant Archivist provides research assistance for students, staff, faculty, and community researchers using the university and regional archives collections. This position assists with the management and promotion of an institutional repository of scholarly works produced by UW-Stout faculty and students. The position also assists with managing the acquisition, identification, preservation, metadata cataloging, and discovery tools for selected archival digital collections. This position works with library colleagues to develop a vision for implementing creative services and utilizing emerging technologies to meet the changing needs and expectations of our users.
