Library Publishing Coalition (LPC) Program Assistant
20 hr/wk position
Responsible to the LPC Community Facilitator (Educopia’s Scholarly Communications Program Leader) and the LPC Board
About the Library Publishing Coalition: The LPC has over 80 member libraries, a slate of very active standing committees and working groups, a number of outreach programs, a growing list of regularly updated resources (including the Library Publishing Directory and the Library Publishing Bibliography), and a growing annual conference (the Library Publishing Forum). LPC is a community-driven organization, and much of the organization’s work is undertaken by community members, but Educopia Institute staff provide administrative support, strategic leadership, and community facilitation.
Job Purpose: Working remotely as part of Educopia’s virtual office environment, the Program Assistant delivers administrative and program support for the Library Publishing Coalition.
Responsibilities Include:
- Membership support: coordinating new member onboarding processes and routine member communications
- Communications support: drafting routine communications, proofreading, and updating content on LPC’s WordPress-based website
- Event planning support: assisting with logistical and program planning processes for the Library Publishing Forum as part of a team that includes the Community Facilitator, other Educopia staff, and LPC community members
- Administrative support: helping to maintain and update LPC’s documentation and to implement routine administrative procedures
- General program support: assisting the Community Facilitator and LPC’s Board in advancing the organization’s goals through a broad portfolio of projects and programs
- Research support: providing administrative and research support for the Community Facilitator as needed on Educopia Research projects originating in the Library Publishing Coalition

LPC Community Facilitator
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two years of job-related experience. Proven ability to attend to details, communicate effectively and professionally, and provide flexible support on a wide variety of administrative tasks. Strong customer service skills and problem-solving ability required. Project management experience and experience in libraries (or education in library science) preferred.
Salary:
This is a 20 hours per week position without benefits. (As per Educopia policy, only employees working 34 hours or more are eligible for benefits.) Employees in this position are paid a salary on a monthly basis and are not eligible to receive overtime pay. The salary for this position is $15,000 per year.
