If you want to make the written word enticing and visible to patrons, and can advocate for books and reading while also encouraging supporting staff to do the same, then we need you to apply for our Readers’ Advisory Librarian position at the Kokomo-Howard County Public Library.
Be part of a library that has been one of a few libraries to host an ALA exhibit, brought community awareness to important issues like the importance of pollinators, exclusively hosted socially relevant street art in a public library, and won community awards as an important, vital part of the community growth.
This is a full-time position with benefits, which includes generous leave. The position will regularly work evenings and weekends. Pay starts at $17.70 an hour and is a non-exempt position.
This position will coordinate readers’ advisory, train staff system-wide, and also work the Information Desk and help with programming related to readers’ advisory. We are looking for someone approachable, customer focused, and flexible. You must have Indiana library certification of at least LC3 and a valid Indiana Driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one. Ideal candidates will have an MLIS or equivalent from an accredited school.
