Job Description:
As a Librarian you will provide assistance and support to the corporate engineering library. Support is needed for special research projects and general library (inventory, serials, etc.) upkeep/support. Current work load is estimated that approximately 20 hours a week of support is needed.
· Manage interlibrary loans (to be completed at a minimum of a weekly basis)
· Order documents or books, Track orders, Renew items, Return ILLs.
· Provide bibliographic citation support daily or as needed (response in 72 hours or less)
· Search and verify citations presented by users using online catalog, databases and OCLC.
· Maintain library databases weekly (to be complete at a minimum of a weekly basis)
· OPAC and usage metrics
· Electronic patron and circulation records
· Send out overdue notices or recall items by email and phone
· Catalog new on-line journals into OPAC or remove discontinued titles.
· Collection maintenance weekly (to be completed at a minimum of a weekly basis unless otherwise noted)
· Complete annual serials renewal through Bash
· Complete serials renewals for individual patrons
· Update serials 4.3.1. Catalog and place on shelves
· Claim orders not received and missing serial issues
· Prepare books for placement in the library Catalog
· Mark call numbers
· Shelve in new titles and Heritage Trust collection materials
· Prepare a book inventory report and reconcile with Library catalog.
· Assist library users daily or as needed (provided on an as-needed basis)
· Provide basic on-line database support, including OPAC
· Provided informational and directional support, including finding books/serials on shelves.
· Refer research questions to Senior Librarian
· Perform citation searches
· Perform reference search requests
· Maintain and update MARC records in Library catalog (Library World)
· Hyperlink maintenance of Library webpage
· Approve requests for access to Library App database
· Make backup of any new AIAA, ASME GT, CD ROMS
· Contact HR and (Debra Thomas) and Teresa Sites in COOP program and make sure they have brochures for orientation
· A student working on degree in Library Information Science, has ILL Training (Interlibrary Loan Library), General Library Education, Technology Library Education, Experience at a local public, school or college library.
High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency (green card) is required
High School Diploma
1-2 years of experience in the role
Part time position. Approximately 20-30 hours per week. Flexible with schedule.
Pay rate: $15-$17 per hour.
