Call for Submissions: New Views on Gender Journal – Celebrating 32 Years!

Since its founding in 1993, New Views on Gender has been a powerful platform dedicated to amplifying diverse voices and perspectives on gender, sexuality, and minority experiences. We are excited to announce the upcoming issue, set to be published in April 2025, and invite submissions that reflect on the legacy and impact of gender across time, exploring changes in laws, human thought processes, and cultural understandings.

We Welcome a Variety of Submissions:
– Poetry
– Photography
– Research Papers
– Fiction/Non-fiction
– Physical Art
– Sculptures
– Digital Art
– Personal Stories
– And More!

Submission Requirements:
– All research-based writing must adhere to APA format with proper APA citations.
– Include your full name and preferred pronouns.
– Ensure all content is appropriate for publication.
– Each submission must include a title.

Deadline: January 31, 2025 (early submissions encouraged)

Monday, January 20th while campus is closed, Northside Hall will have its water shut down for Innovation Center renovation work. Restrooms will not be available in the Northside West section of the building but will still be available near the Campus Auditorium entrances on the south side of the complex.

Your Facilities team will have the building ready when classes resume Tuesday, January 21st.

The German Conversation Table is starting up again on Wednesday, January 22nd in the Language Resource Center (LaRC–first floor of Wiekamp Hall). We’ll be meeting weekly on Wednesdays at 11:30am-12:30pm. Feel free to join us for informal conversation in German. All levels of proficiency are welcome!

Indiana University South Bend considers residential living a valuable part of the educational process in which students participate when they agree to live in the residence halls. Resident Assistants (RAs) help students develop responsible, concerned approaches to group living by supporting their efforts to understand themselves and others. RAs also work with residents to create an environment conducive to living and learning. Each RA is expected to plan several programming events that meet the social, cultural, and educational needs of residents.

RAs are compensated with a bi-weekly stipend and free occupancy of a two-bedroom apartment. The RA position helps to teach individuals several life skills, such as time management, interpersonal skills, communication skills, emergency management, and more. You, as an RA, will be able to meet new students and have the opportunity to network and get to know others.

We will be holding two information meetings. The first one will be on Wednesday, January 22nd, from 7-8 pm, and the second one will be on Thursday, January 23th, from 7-8 pm, both in the community building. If you would like to learn a little bit more, we would love to see you there.

The CUBE will be showing a compilations of historical speeches and documentaries regarding the life of MLK throughout the day.
