Big Things Coming to Northside Hall!

Big things are coming to Northside Hall! The new year brings projects to upgrade climate controls and lighting to the southeast section along the Campus Auditorium including the East Lounge, backstage cast makeup rooms, practice rooms, Upstage Theater, Mail Room and more.

During these renovations, several areas will be unavailable for public access. This is a “short term pain for a long term gain” while under construction.

Areas that will be impacted in January 2025:

• Doors 18 & 19 unavailable to southeast parking lot. Door 20 will remain open.
• East lounge (018) closed for renovation
• Ground floor practice rooms closed for renovation (024 suites)
• Mail services relocating to Education & Arts 1098

The facilities team has been working with the impacted groups and individuals to relocate offices and events during the renovations. Signage will be placed to designate construction zones with ongoing communication to be shared in the Daily Titan during this project. Future work will be phased in March and May 2025 shown in the maps available. Updates will be provided here in the Daily Titan as we ready those next steps.

Winter Break Winterization

With Winter Break quickly approaching, we would like to ask/remind everyone to ensure that any space heaters are turned off, items are removed from refrigerators and anything else that may be impacted by this much needed break from the office.

IU South Bend Libraries Winter Break hours

The IU South Bend Libraries schedule changes for winter break.   We take this necessary respite time to re-charge our batteries before the beginning of the spring semester.  We hope you, also, take the time to enjoy friends, family, and some rest.  Have a safe & happy winter break!

December 20, 2024 – Open regular hours

December 21 – January 5, 2025 – Closed

January 6 – 10, 2025 – Open 8am  – 5pm

January 11-12, 2025 – Closed

January 13, 2025 – Spring Semester hours begin

 

The Libraries’ online resources are available 24/7 at www.iusb.edu/library.

The book returns box by the Schurz Library in the Hildreth Circle is also available 24/7.

We hope everyone has a safe and happy winter break!

January 13th Get Involved with our Clubs! 11am-2pm Fireside We are inviting clubs to come in and table and recruit other students to be a part of their clubs, network with other clubs, and perhaps collaborate on future programs.  If your club is interested in tabling Sign Up Here
January 14th Get Involved Stuff a Plush 11am-1pm Fireside Titan Productions invites you to come and build a stuffed animal kit! We will have various stuffed animal building kits and all of them will have a Titan Spirit Shirt While supplies last! Light snacks and beverages will be provided. Transition Monitoring Team

The IU South Bend Transition Monitoring Team (TMT) is a group that invites comments on the change process to hear how things are going for people and the effects that the transition is having on them. The hope is that by establishing the TMT, people will feel they have a vehicle to express fears or anxieties and identify gaps in communication or engagement in ways that will build confidence and trust in the reorganization implementation process and leadership.

Campus feedback will be gathered by group members through email, casual conversations, one-on-one meetings and an anonymous feedback Qualtrics form and will be shared with campus administration and AOD-I.

To date the TMT has collected over 100 comments that have affected AOD implementation communications, timelines, processes, and structure.

In an ongoing effort to recognize great employees (Q4 of our 2022 MyVoice engagement survey), IUSB HR has introduced the Titan Superstar. This tool allows IU community members to recognize faculty and staff for the impact that they have made supporting this campus and IUSB community members.

“About two or three weeks ago bathrooms in admin backed up pretty badly. I believe Robert and Alicia of facilities cleaned up everything.  I want to recognize this work by our custodians. This is over and above, and they did it without any fuss.”

Monday, December 16th – 10am-2pm & 3pm-5pm
Tuesday, December 17th – 12pm-3:45
Wednesday, December 18th – 10am-6pm
Thursday, December 19th – 10am-1:30pm & 3pm-5pm
Friday, December 20th – 10am-1pm

Just a quick reminder the pantry is located in Northside Hall, room 020.

On the front side of Northside Hall (facing the river on Northside Blvd.), we are to the right of the Campus Auditorium and across from the Box Office.
