Big things are coming to Northside Hall! The new year brings projects to upgrade climate controls and lighting to the southeast section along the Campus Auditorium including the East Lounge, backstage cast makeup rooms, practice rooms, Upstage Theater, Mail Room and more.
During these renovations, several areas will be unavailable for public access. This is a “short term pain for a long term gain” while under construction.
Areas that will be impacted in January 2025:
• Doors 18 & 19 unavailable to southeast parking lot. Door 20 will remain open.
• East lounge (018) closed for renovation
• Ground floor practice rooms closed for renovation (024 suites)
• Mail services relocating to Education & Arts 1098
The facilities team has been working with the impacted groups and individuals to relocate offices and events during the renovations. Signage will be placed to designate construction zones with ongoing communication to be shared in the Daily Titan during this project. Future work will be phased in March and May 2025 shown in the maps available. Updates will be provided here in the Daily Titan as we ready those next steps.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this much needed upgrade!
From your Facilities Team

Dear Campus Community,
With Winter Break quickly approaching, we would like to ask/remind everyone to ensure that any space heaters are turned off, items are removed from refrigerators and anything else that may be impacted by this much needed break from the office.
We hope that everyone has a wonderful and restful Winter Break!
From your Facilities Team.

In an ongoing effort to recognize great employees (Q4 of our 2022 MyVoice engagement survey), IUSB HR has introduced the Titan Superstar. This tool allows IU community members to recognize faculty and staff for the impact that they have made supporting this campus and IUSB community members.
This week’s Titan Superstar is:
Shelby Ping of Academic Affairs:
“Shelby Ping is an administrative assistant in Academic Affairs. She provides administrative assistant for several programs including IU South Bend Assessment. She is always prompt and accurate in response to tasks and requests. Recently, IU South Bend Assessment delegated a team to attend 2024 Assessment Institute in Indianapolis on October 27 – 29, 2024. Shelby provided excellent support for this important project. She helped us to manage the budget including reservations and reimbursements for travel expenses to the team members. She made valuable contributions to the IU South Bend Assessment. We would like to nominate Shelby as a Titan Superstar!”
Want to Recognize a Titan Superstar?
Let our faculty and staff community members know they are appreciated and that their good work is valued!
Titan Superstars will be shared via the Daily Titan. Submissions for Titan Superstars can be made on the IUSB HR Webpage:
https://www.iusb.edu/administration/human-resources/
If you are not sure of the employee’s name, describe the building or area involved. We will help determine the employee’s identity and ensure they are properly recognized.
