IT Notice: Take steps to delete IU campus specific email addresses

To All Students:

It is now nearly a year since students were switched to make @iu.edu their primary email address. Depending on when you started, for six months or more you may have received weekly digest reports listing emails sent to your old campus-specific email address (ex: @iux.edu).

If you’re confident you no longer need that old address, please take action to remove it now:

  • Navigate to https://access.iu.edu/Email and select “Remove secondary account.”
  • Emails sent to your old campus-specific email address will no longer be forwarded.
  • The weekly digest report will be discontinued.

If you have additional IT questions, contact your local UITS Support Center.

It’s been nearly a year since faculty and staff emails were switched to make @iu.edu everyone’s primary email address. This change reduced the total number of email accounts by over 60,000–and substantially decreased the amount of unwanted email!

If you’re one of the people who has received weekly digest reports listing the emails sent to your old campus-specific email address (ex: @iux.edu), it should be time to stop. If you’re confident you no longer need that old address, please take action now to remove it:

  • Navigate to https://access.iu.edu/Email and select “Remove secondary account.”
  • Emails sent to your old campus-specific email address will no longer be forwarded.
  • The weekly digest report will be discontinued.

If you have additional IT questions, contact your local UITS Support Center.

PTR Candidate Workshop (Research / Service Statement)

Suppose you will be submitting a dossier for promotion to Senior Lecturer, Teaching Professor, Associate Professor, Full Professor, Clinical Senior Lecturer, or Clinical Associate Professor in August 2025. In that case, you are invited to join a UCET-sponsored group to help you assemble a dossier that presents your case in the best light possible.

We will meet in the UCET Classroom (NS 245) to answer your questions and share feedback on preparing your research and service statements at 3pm on Friday, April 11. If attending, please bring along several hard copies of a draft of your research or service statement. Contact David Blouin, UCET Career Mentor, at dblouin@iu.edu if you have any questions.

Registration is appreciated, walk-ins welcome.

South Bend Cubs Featuring Titan Tuesday Specials for Home Games

Indiana University South Bend is teaming up with the South Bend Cubs for Titan Tuesday events at the ballpark this season. Students, faculty, staff and families can get up to a 50% discount on tickets by wearing their favorite IU gear or presenting a Crimson Card at the ticket window. People purchasing tickets online through this link can also get the discount by entering the code: Titan25

The discount is only good for Tuesday home games during this season. The Cubs will be highlighting the campus with a commercial on the outfield video screen each game and representatives from campus will be throwing out the first pitch.

Let’s flood the ballpark with crimson and cream and show off our Titan pride!

IDEA Week – Free Event!

Marketing Research Discussion Panel

Talk with marketing researchers from companies such as Numerator and Longswood International this Wednesday at 5:30PM in the Alumni Room – Admin 251.

Join us at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, April 9th for the Advertising and Marketing Club’s marketing research discussion panel. This week we will have alumni from various marketing research roles to discuss their career progression, their day-to-days, and any advice they might want to give for people interested in pursuing this field.

Become the Next PTR Mentor at UCET (and be rewarded)

UCET has a donor-funded position of Career/Promotion, Tenure, Reappointment Mentor, most recently held by Drs. Elaine Roth and David Blouin. We are now seeking the next Mentor. Will it be you?

The Mentor will organize the PTR Prep groups, provide several open UCET workshops on career topics each semester, and be available for consultation by faculty on career matters.  The mentor should be a senior professor with strong experience in promotion, tenure, and reappointment (PTR) who is respected by both faculty and administrators and possesses the interpersonal skills to work with everyone from anxious junior faculty to campus administrators. Preference will be given to those with experience as a PTR prep group mentor and with professor rank.

An annual minimum salary supplement of $2,500 or a release from one course per year will be provided to compensate the Mentor for the time involved in this work. There is a small budget to support the mentoring activities, such as conference travel, hospitality, books, or other items for UCET programming. This appointment is for three years and may be renewed.

Names will be accepted until the position is filled, but we are looking to select the person by the beginning of May. The position will start at the beginning of Academic Year 2025-26. Send a very brief letter of interest and a CV to UCET@iu.edu.

Black, African American & Multiracial Support Network

Join us for the April 14 THRIVE session: THRIVE is a peer community for Black, African American, & Multiracial student success.

THRIVE sessions are informal and student-driven. Conversations will evolve based on what attendees bring to the table, with optional prompts to guide discussion. For those who prefer a quieter space, there will also be puzzles, coloring and creative activities available.

Location: CUBE (Center for Understanding, Belonging, and Experiences)
