The Sandwich Generation

Many people today will face having to take care of an elderly relative while they are still taking care of their own children. This is known as the “Sandwich Generation”.

This presentation will discuss how to collect information, communicate with compassion, be proactive and respectful and cope with the issues people in the Sandwich Generation must face.

This webinar is provided by Supportlinc EAP.

Eligibility: IU employees, their spouses on an IU-sponsored medical plan, and populations listed here.

Nominations Open for Indiana Commission for Higher Education

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education Membership (IC 21-18-3-1) consists of fourteen (14) members appointed by the governor, one (1) of which must be a student representative and one (1) of which must be a full-time faculty member of a state educational institution. While appointed by the Governor, the student and faculty representatives are selected in part by his or her peers. The 2025 Faculty Nominating Committee is currently accepting applications for the Faculty Commission Member position. The committee selects nominees from which the Governor will make an appointment to the Commission.

Meet our new Director of Human Resources, hear the results of our campus belonginess survey, and learn about new initiatives such as our Seamless Admissions Program. Teach-In and Day of Action

Thursday, April 17 is a National Day of Action for Higher Education. Campus communities around the US are coming together to organize, rally, and advocate. Join the Student Government Association, Staff Council, American Association of University Professors, and other allies for a “Teach-In” from 1-3 pm in the Grill. There will be short talks about key issues, including federal funding changes and how they affect students and faculty, free speech, and what you can do to have your voice heard. Resources will be shared with those that want to call elected officials or create symbols of support for Higher Ed.

Criminal Justice Job Fair

A Criminal Justice Job Fair will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025, 4:00 PM-6:00 PM at the Student Activities Center, rooms 221, 223, and 225.

The Criminal Justice Department will be hosting a Criminal Justice Job Fair. There will be Criminal Justice professionals from many different agencies across the Criminal Justice spectrum to include policing, courts, corrections, and agencies that engage in counselling and social services. This will be an excellent opportunity to speak with those professionals in attendance about your career interests. This event is being co-sponsored by the Criminal Justice Student Organization. Pizza and beverages will be available on a first come first serve basis.

Monday, April 7th | 8am-11am; 1pm-5pm

Tuesday, April 8th | 8am-12pm; 1pm-5pm

Wednesday, April 9th | 8am-11am; 1pm-3pm; 5pm-6pm

Thursday, April 10th | 8am-12pm; 1pm-5pm

Friday, April 11th | 8am-12pm; 1pm-4pm

Just a quick reminder the pantry is located in Northside Hall, room 020.

On the front side of Northside Hall (facing the river on Northside Blvd.), we are to the right of the Campus Auditorium and across from the Box Office.

If you are interested in volunteering, please let us know at tft@iu.edu

We schedule at least one week in advance, so please plan accordingly.
