The Student Activities Center is looking for workers to monitor our facility, the weight room, as well as student recreation areas. Workers will be required to assist in sanitizing facilities, assisting SAC patrons, and providing assistance when needed. All interested student should complete an application found at the SAC front desk.
Common Core LGBT Theatre Course Offered Fall 2021
THTR-T390 Dramatic Literature will be offered in the fall of 2021 fulfilling the Common Core ‘Literary and Intellectual Traditions’ requirement at the 300 level. This course will focus on the history and literature of LGBT theatre focusing on works from the 1960’s to the present. The effect of changing public attitudes and policies on the literature will be discussed as well as the effect of the literature on its audiences. The course is discussion based and prior theatre background is not necessary. If you are interested in learning about LGBT theatre and completing a common core requirement you can sign up for THTR-T390 Dramatic Literature, course number #44707.
COVID Check Testing Center Volunteers and Student Employees
The COVID Check asymptomatic testing center is open in Admin 120 and hours are:
Tuesdays: 3-7 pm
Wednesdays: 9-1 pm
Thursdays: 3-7 pm
Fridays: 10:30-2:30 pm
If you are an employee who would like to volunteer some time in the testing center, any help is appreciated. If you are a student looking for work, please send your resume to milleref@iu.edu. Duties include wiping off tables, helping to check persons in whom are testing, and other tasks as assigned. Positive vibes a must 🙂
Reminder: New Student Convocation
Things to Know:
- IU South Bend t-shirts with the “Return of the Titans” logo are available for pick-up in Administration 154 and can be worn on Friday (we are not doing regalia this year). Lanyards and ID holders are also available.
- Ushers will seat students and staff.
- Faculty will gather in the Northside Hall Reception room area. Ushers will seat the faculty in the front rows of the auditorium at the start of the program.
- At the conclusion, ushers will escort the speakers, faculty, and staff from the auditorium. We request that faculty and staff participate in a cheer tunnel welcoming our new students to campus as they exit Northside Hall (the cheer tunnel will take place outside the entrance closest to the parking lot).

CLS-L202 Laboratory Math and Techniques
CLS-L202 will be offered during the second 8 weeks of the fall semester on Mondays from 10:00 – 11:30. This one credit hour, hands-on course will offer an opportunity to gain introductory experience performing activities in the diagnostic laboratory such as serial dilutions, blood cell identification, blood typing, and bacterial culture. Join us for this course and discover your inner scientist!
CLS-L201 Introduction to the Diagnostic Laboratory
CLS-L201 will be offered during the first 8 weeks of the fall semester on Mondays from 10:00 – 11:30. This one credit hour course will introduce you to the profession located at the intersection of science, technology, and medicine. Each week, you will explore one of the many departments of the diagnostic laboratory. Whether you want to work in a hospital lab, reference lab, government public health lab or want to continue on to an advanced degree such as medicine or pathology assistant, the medical laboratory profession is right for you.

If you have ever referred a student in need to the Titans Feeding Titans Food Pantry or have needed to use it yourself, please consider joining us this Saturday morning for two hours only (10 a.m. to 12 p.m.) to help prepare the pantry for the semester and to pack bags for fall semester distribution.

SPAN S302 THE HISPANIC WORLD: Clash of Cultures
This semester, we will study the encounter and clash of Mesoamerican peoples with Europeans in the early 16th century.
Primary and secondary sources in Spanish, mostly on Aztec and Castilian cultures.
